Hi,

Welcome to my fundraising page. I thank you for visiting. I would like to emphasize that although this is "my page" I don’t own or maintain this website. I established this site through project HOPE. I don't receive anything other than an emotional reward for setting up this page. No add revenue, no bonuses, no stock returns, no bribes, nothing. This is just a way for me to publicize their efforts and my support for their organization. Donations made through this interface are administered to project HOPE.

HOPE stands for Health Opportunities for People Everywhere. They have been around for over 50 years and I support them because I'm impressed by their work. Currently this organization provides medical supplies, expertise, education and training to regions where healthcare is inadequate or in need of disaster relief. The medical supplies and expertise they supply benefit many people in need of care that may otherwise go without. They teach patients about practices that prevent the spread of disease both transmittable and secondary to poor health. They teach and provide access to better nutrition including breast feeding support. They help train local physicians and provide medical equipment that is necessary to maintain quality care in these regions. What I found to be most impressive is that over 90% of their funds are applied directly to their efforts.

I think their multifaceted approach to solving healthcare problems enables them to efficiently make a strong impact that is sustainable. I believe that even if the money I can afford to donate only helps in a small way I have still made a much more important contribution than I could spending this money anywhere else.

I’m supporting three specific projects: Help Children in Africa (improving healthcare in Africa), Save a Dying Child (prevents child death from dehydration), and Care for Haiti (earthquake relief). I have recently added Care for Haiti because although I have come across many aid requests I am confident project HOPE is equip to effectively provide extensive relief services. There are many equally important services that project HOPE has established throughout the world. I encourage you to learn more about their additional efforts through their website.
